Melalui Instagram, NIKI membagikan kisah di balik lagu Oceans and Engines yang memang diciptakan dari pengalaman pribadi dengan cinta pertamanya.
Pemilik nama asli Niki Zevanya ini merasakan patah hati terbesar karena berpisah dari kekasihnya yang memutuskan untuk pindah ke negara lain. Jarak mereka dipisahkan oleh lautan (oceans) dan hanya bisa ditempuh dengan pesawat (engines).
"Ini sangat dramatis dan panjang dengan kenaifan serta kepolosan saya di usia 17 tahun," tutur penyanyi yang kini berumur 23 tahun tersebut.
Di dalam musik video Oceans and Engines, aktor berdarah Indonesia Peter Adrian Sudarso menjadi Ben, cinta pertama NIKI yang hilang.
